Hekate Chocolate™
This syrup is not only delicious with waffles and pancakes, but also with vanilla icecream.
The blend of Dark Chocolate and Maple work so well together. In my morning oatmeal, on French Toast, and such a seductive taste. I imagine anyone can use their imagination as to what to put it on!
This chocolate maple syrup is so rich and chocolatey that it replaces syrup on my ice cream. Love it.
Love love love this.
My order came today. I opened the box and my husband said I see you spent a lot of money on fancy syrup. I opened the chocolate gave him a taste and said I can make chocolate pancakes right now. I did. We also used your recipe for a mocha and he just happens to be smoking ribs tonight so let’s just say the entire bottle will be gone today and he told me to buy 3 more and went down the list of people he thinks we should buy this for Christmas gifts.
I’ve purchased several flavors now, and Hecate Chocolate is one that gets used a lot in our house. The flavors are great, and I love knowing my purchase supports a small business.
Ok, I don’t generally write product reviews unless the item was so laughably bad that I just have to share it with the world as a precautionary tale. (Looking at you, Lays Cappuccino Potato chips, I still feel betrayed all these years later, lol!) Regardless, I gotta say this syrup is unreal in terms of flavor, versatility in various dishes and drinks, and potency.
Let’s talk about flavor first. The underlying maple is legit and what I would expect of a product coming out of the northeast. Color is a darker brandy like shade and easily seen through with no little chunky pieces or artifacts. Texture is what you’d expect out of a real maple syrup. However, the addition of the chocolate is what takes this thing to the next level. It’s not a milk chocolate flavor, but more of a dark chocolate like an 80% cacao. This suits my fancy just fine.
A few years ago, I took a look in the mirror and realized that I had become a rather big girl. This concerned me because of a family history of various health issues and I knew I had to start eating whole foods on the regular. As such, processed crap including candy, cakes, cookies, and even white sugar became products non grata in our home. But I missed the flavors of those items, especially the chocolates. What this syrup does is scratch a flavor itch without me binging on a bag of candy. Suggested serving size of this syrup is 2tbs at 110 calories. And I promise, it would be worth every one of those cals. However, because the flavor is so potent, you can really use a lot less and get all of the decadent enjoyment. Here’s a few examples of how I use just a teaspoon full (which is 18 cals) to flavor food and drinks.
Sweet vinaigrette for spinach salad
Glaze for baked chicken
Sweetener for tea
A drizzle on eggs
Mix with your favorite hot sauce for a perfect combo of spicy and sweet, I like Sriracha
Homemade BBQ sauce (can not stress how delish that was!)
Instead of drenching a sweet potato in butter, do a very light coating of this syrup, bake and enjoy
Wonderful on glazed carrots
Pretty much anything that would be a sweet/savory dish is a good mix for this product. I suppose you could put it on pancakes too, but I can’t eat those anymore, lol! Anyway, give it a try. 5/5 stars, will buy again.
I love to drizzle this on warm homemade chocolate chip cookies, it's just so good! Also great on ice cream
This one is always my favorite and I use to in everything from coffee to overnight oats to my Greek yogurt, this is a rich, cocoa perfection!
