Violet Infused Maple Syrup
WytchWood syrup starts with the sap from maple trees grown in central Vermont. It is then boiled and infused with organic violets and slightly tinted with the natural colors of purple wildflowers. A beautiful floral syrup for the summer months. Hand wax-sealed and blessed, this is unlike anything you have ever experienced. Each and every bottle is represented by a God, Goddess, Pagan celebration or folklore icon.
Blodeuwedd (pr. "Blod-EYE-weth") is the Welsh Goddess of Spring created from flowers and the Ninefold Goddess of the Western Isles of Paradise. She is one of the main figures in the Mabinogion, the Welsh cycle of stories of the early Celtic Goddesses and Gods. The story was that Lleu needed a wife, and Blodeuwedd was created for him out of flowers by a wizard called Gwydion. After a period of contentment Blodeuwedd fell in love with another man. They plotted to kill Lleu. Gwydion punished her by turning her into an owl, condemned to the night without human company or the company of birds. She is the white Goddess of Death and Life in Her May-aspect, and part of a triad consisting of Arianrhod (virgin), Blodeuwedd (lover), and Cerridwen (crone). She represents temporary beauty and the bright blooming that must come full circle through death. She is the promise of autumn visible in spring. ‘Blodau’ means flowers in Welsh.

Blooming Bubbles: Add 1oz of Blodeuwedd syrup to glass of Champagne for a summery.
Blodeuwedd Violet syrup is beautifully infused! It has the perfect balance of sweet nuttiness of maple with the soft floral tones of violet. A perfect flavor for the lover of all things flower; or a gentle accompaniment to a slice of sponge cake that needs that magickal little bit of something extra. This syrup is not over powering as long as you respect that you don’t need half the bottle poured over you flapjack stack 😉.
Delightful floral sweetness! Perfect in tea, hot or iced. The violet aroma is intoxicating.
I tried this with plain crepes and it's delicious! Flowery but not soapy or anything. It's quite sweet, perfect for pancakes or crepes - or french toast! Very happy with my purchase.
This Violet syrup is so perfect. I got this and the Baba Yaga and this one has my heart. Liquified candied violets. I will say I don’t get much maple flavor at all, but personally I’d prefer the Violet anyway. Delicious!
This Syrup is delicious. I thought the Hecate would be my favorite, but this syrup is on a whole other level. It has a strong fruity/floral flavor which is great, because you can use less and still get great flavor..
This syrup is delicious. I was hesitant about purchasing because I was not sure if I would like the flavor, but I am so glad I did. It has such a refreshing floral fruity flavor. A little goes a long way.
So, I'm not going to lie, I was a little scared to try this! Violets have an amazing smell, and as someone with a "super sniffer," I was worried it was going to be way too floral for me and would taste like perfume. When I first opened the bottle, I could smell how strong the violet was, and that only increased my concern. I used a tsp in my tea, and tasted a bit pure on my finger, and all those worries disappeared. Though floral, because violets are indeed flowers, the pure syrup tastes like candied violets itself. In my tea blend, it bought out the mint flavor more and complemented every flavor so well. I posted a picture to Instagram and messaged Wytchwood that I now understand why Queen Elizabeth I had an obsession with candied violets. If you have the same worries as I did, put your mind at ease, you will love this in tea, on icecream, pancakes, and your own beverages -- whether lemonade or mixed drinks.
Violet is a very naturally sweet flavor, and very unique to the palate. I will say the smell was very strong, but the taste was so much subtler and delicious! Very unexpected flavor! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Never had anything like this before, and I tip my hat to the uniqueness they offer.
I work in the wine industry, so I'm pretty picky about my flavors. I'm often disappointed by flower and botanical flavored things because people usually focus so much on the novelty of the flavor that they forget to make sure it actually tastes right.
Well friends, Wytchwood got this one right! The violet is very present without overpowering the maple, and the flavor they've achieved is so clean and natural - it truly does taste like fresh infused violets. It's so delicious and even a couple of my violet-skeptic family members have said this one is their favorite of all 6 flavors!
This is lovely on top of pancakes and French toast. I use it whenever I can a yogurt sweetener. I also make a lovely sweet and floral Pimm's cup with it. And I highly recommend trying it as a play on a kir royale - simply swap this in for the creme de cassis or even do a dash of both - so good!
First off - I feel like I've started a new part of my life after finding this place. Everything from Wytchwood has exceeded (my fairly high) expectations. I wanted to note this syrup though because I really was not sure what to expect. I had never tried anything infused with violet, but I'm a huge fan of rose and lavender flavors, so I decided to try this Blodeuwedd syrup on some breakfast pancakes. From the first bite, I thought I was dreaming. It is incredible, fragrant without being overwhelming, distinct from any other flavorings I've had, and just overall makes me wish I was lying in a meadow enjoying the summer breeze. I'm looking forward to following the suggested recipe and introducing this into some lemonade so I can continue to enjoy the beautiful flavors throughout the day. I had to come back for another bottle. You won't regret getting this one (or any of the others either, for that matter)!!
